The Top 10 graduates of the NBHS Class of 2018 were honored on April 30 during the Senior Awards Ceremony held in the school auditorium.

New Braunfels High School hosted their annual Senior Awards Ceremony on April 30 in the school auditorium to honor nearly 200 of their graduates and announce this year’s Top 10 Graduates.

The evening event was the first public recognition of the Top 10 graduates who will have special roles during the graduation ceremony scheduled for 7 p.m. on May 31 at Texas State University’s Strahan Coliseum.

“At the ceremony, 200 scholarships were awarded from local sponsors, and we are still waiting to hear from five more about additional scholarships,” said Tina Miller, the NBHS College and Career advisor who coordinates the ceremony. “There was approximately $214,000 in scholarships awarded that night.”

The ceremony also included recognition of the 14 students that are enlisting in the military after graduation.

According to Miller, the graduating class was offered approximately $2.6 million in scholarship, including local, academic, national, military and athletic. NOTE: The source of the total dollar amount was only based on those students that chose to submit their scholarship award amounts to be included in the total.
