ORMS students setting up shop at NB Farmers Market

Support ORMS GT Students at the NB Farmers Market Dec. 8 & Dec. 15

The Gifted and Talented Students from Oak Run Middle School will have booths set up at the New Braunfels Farmers Market on Dec. 8 and Dec. 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to sell the items they designed as part of their “Shark Tank” project.

All of the items are student-created and made. The student will be selling custom ornaments, wall art, handmade candles and soap, gift-wrapping accessories, and more!

This activity is part of the Fall Marketing Challenge that the GT students are going through. Each group presented to a group of adult investors in a Shark-Tank style setting late last month. They pitched their ideas with their prototypes and then the Sharks voted for which group they wanted to invest a maximum of $50 and/or up to 20 percent of their business.

The Sharks and groups that matched signed contracts to ensure both sides would honor their agreement. Sharks were also encouraged to meet with the students to serve as advisors.

A special thank you to the following Sharks for donating their time and experience for this project:

Patsy Pfeiffer and Robert Schonhoff, Digital Vision Marketing

Robin Adams and Clare Sanders, Nevro Company

Marisa and Austin Herring, Brake Solutions, Inc.

David Heefner, NBISD Board Representative
