Manage your student’s records with your newly issued portal ID.

Online pre-registration for incoming kindergarten students will open on Monday, April 1, 2019, and remain open until Friday, May 10.


All of the NBISD elementary schools will begin accepting pre-registration documents during school days from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. daily or by appointment. Students being pre-registered for Kindergarten in the 2019-2020 school year must be 5 years old by September 1, 2019.


This pre-registration event will allow parents to review paperwork, ask questions regarding registration and pre-register their child if all of the proper documentation is submitted.


IMPORTANT NOTE: Parents that pre-register their child(ren) must log back into txConnect in August 2019 once online registration opens to verify and upload a new proof of residency in order to complete the registration process.

Items You Will Need:

In order to comply with state and local mandates, as well as local school board policy, parents or guardians must produce the following documents:


  • Birth Certificate – Must be government-issued copy.
  • If your child was born in Texas, you can obtain a certified copy of your child’s birth certificate from the Comal County Clerk’s Office in the County Courthouse Annex Bldg., located at 150 N. Seguin, Ste. 101, in Downtown New Braunfels. Parents can also request a copy online at www.texas.gov under the Vital Statistics link.
  • For information on how to obtain an out-of-state certified copy of your child’s birth certificate, call the Clerk’s Office at 830-221-1230 Option 5.
  • If a birth certificate is not available, the school may also accept a student passport, military ID, adoption records, or legal documentation that establishes a student’s identity.
  • Social Security Card – Must be the child’s card.
  • Immunization Record – Record of all immunizations and/or boosters. Documentation must have the physician’s signature or clinic stamp. Month, day and year must be recorded for each shot.
  • Residency Verification – When you enroll your child, you must provide your Texas Driver’s License or Texas ID which lists your current address and at least one of the following documents to prove you live within the New Braunfels ISD:
    • NBU bill
    • CenterPoint Energy bill
    • GVEC  or CPS bill
    • Lease Agreement (listing all occupants)
    • Mortgage Agreement
    • Notarized letter from your landlord (listing all occupants)

If your family is residing with another NBISD resident, a Residency Form will need to be completed at the campus. Both the parent/guardian, and the NBISD resident will need to make an appointment with the campus secretary. The NBISD resident will need to provide proof of residency and the campus principal must approve all forms.
