The New Braunfels ISD recently hired Rachel Behnke as the new Career and Technical (CTE) Director. Behnke most recently worked as the CTE/College & Career Readiness Coordinator for Lake Travis ISD in Austin. She began her position with NBISD on Oct. 2.
She has been an educator for the past 16 years. She began her career as a high school Family and Consumer Science teacher in Round Rock ISD for six years followed by seven years as a CTE Specialist for the Education Service Center 13 (ESC-13) in Austin. She spent the last three years working at Lake Travis ISD as the CTE/College & Career Readiness Coordinator.
She has a Master of Education degree in Administrative Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Science Education from Texas Tech University and Principal certification from Lamar University.
In her new role at NBISD, she will oversee the district’s CTE program that encompasses all campuses. She will also help hire and evaluate all of the CTE staff and have direct oversight of the New Braunfels High School College and Career Center.
