NBHS athlete to play in San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game
NBHS's own defensive lineman Derek Albers will represent the Unicorns and play for the East team in the San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game presented by H-E-B on Saturday, Jan. 7 in the Alamodome.
Following the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, the game is a battle of East vs. West, with players taking the field at 5 p.m. after the best in the country kick-off at noon.
The game will showcase 108 top players from 60 local high schools who are either committed to play for some of the top universities in the country, or looking for an additional chance to impress college scouts that have potential scholarships to offer.
Players were nominated by their high school coaches and chosen by a selection committee. Lee High School’s head football coach Danny Kloza will coach the West, and Juan Morales from Highlands High School will coach the East.
Tickets are available at the Alamodome box office and through
for $20. One ticket serves as admission for both the All-American Bowl and the All-Star game.
The event will be one the definitive high school football showcases in the country!
