Eric Bergquist, a 1987 graduate of New Braunfels High School, began his first term on the NBISD Board of Trustees on May 21, 2018. He is employed by GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals as a Territory Account Manager. He is very active in the community and currently serves on the NBISD Education Foundation Board of Directors. He and his wife, Dawn, have two children who recently graduated from NBHS.  He currently serves as Board President as of 2022.

Nancy York was elected to the Board of Trustees in November  2020.  She grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Texas A&M University. She has lived in New Braunfels since 2019 and has owned property within the district for 12 years. York retired from teaching high school mathematics in our Texas public school system in May 2019. After 40 years of teaching and holding education leadership positions, she feels that serving as a NBISD trustee is an avenue to give back to the students, parents, school district, and community of New Braunfels. She served as Board Secretary for one year and was elected Board Vice President in 2022. 

She and her husband Leo have a son and a daughter who both reside in New Braunfels with their families.

Steve Minus was elected to the Board in May 2021. He has lived in New Braunfels for 15 years. He is currently the General Manager of Operations for an engineered building materials company in central Texas. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio. He ran for the Board because NBISD is growing and changing more rapidly than ever before and he wants to help ensure we meet those challenges. He was elected to be Board Secretary in 2022. 
 
Throughout his time in New Braunfels, he has served in many different capacities with some of the area’s finest organizations including NBLL, CYO, Comal 4H, CCJLSA, Knights of Columbus, Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, BSA Troop 163, Upward, NBYSA, and the Wurstfest Association. His wife is a 5th generation New Braunfels resident and proud graduate of NBHS. He has two school-aged children that attend NBISD schools.

Morgan Renaud was elected to the Board of Trustees in May 2022.  She grew up in Norfolk, Massachusetts and graduated from Emmanuel College in Boston. She has lived in New Braunfels since 2019, moving to Dallas in 2017 and then San Antonio when she married her husband Chris. Renaud has had a versatile range of careers but most recently is an early childhood ministry coordinator at Journey Fellowship. As a parent of a two current unicorns and one future unicorn, Renaud aims to serve all of the students, teachers and staff of NBISD. She hopes to become a familiar face at all of the schools and is excited to face the challenges the district has.

She and her husband Chris live with their two kids, Lilly and Gavin, and newest addition to their crew, Levi.

Megan Stratemann-Willis was elected to the Board of Trustees in May 2022.  She is a 5th generation New Braunfels native who is passionate about the history and the future of NBISD. She is a 1998 graduate of New Braunfels High School and a mother of two future NBISD graduates.  She received her Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and her Master’s in Business Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce.  She comes from a long list of Unicorn graduates, a family of teachers, and civil servants.  She was raised to have a servant’s heart and truly believes in helping others.  She has worked in the municipal electric utility field for over 18 years and understands the responsibility of representing our community with integrity.  

In her spare time she can be found hanging out with family, friends, the family dogs, or at her daughters’ dance studio.  She also has the pleasure of assisting with school field trips.  

Her husband, Christopher, is an Army Veteran and was elected in May 2022 as the District 2 Councilman for the City of New Braunfels.

Kim Goodwin was elected to the Board of Trustees in May 2023.  She is a 4th generation New Braunfels local, and a 3rd generation Unicorn.  Kim graduated from New Braunfels High School in 1997 and received her BBA in Accounting from Texas State University at San Marcos.  Kim is an audit manager for AMS-PAR specializing in the Oil and Gas and Utility industries and has been with the company for 16 years serving in many leadership roles and professional organizations.  She and her husband have two daughters attending elementary school in NBISD.

Kim is active in the community by serving in various organizations including girls NBLL, NBGSA, and the Sophienburg Museum and Archives and strives to make a difference every day for those she serves.  Kim is passionate about helping the NBISD students, teachers, parents and community members have the best experiences possible in a growing area.  Kim loves this community she grew up in and wants future generations to experience the traditions and values that were instilled in her throughout the decades of living in New Braunfels.
