Bond 2010

Bond Background

New Braunfels Independent School District Board of Trustees voted on March 15, 2010, to call a $45 million bond referendum on November 2, 2010. The vote to call for the bond election helped the district relieve overcrowding at New Braunfels High School and helped alleviate some of the equity issues between the district's two existing middle schools. The bond also helped fund campus improvements throughout the district and to funded a new transportation facility. See the proposed projects listed below.

Total bond costs: $45 million 


New Middle School to be converted to future high school.

The school will be built on district land off Klein Road in the Legend Pond Subdivision. The new campus will also help to alleviate some of the equity issues between the two existing middle schools. In the future, it is the plan of the school district for this middle school to evolve into New Braunfels ISD's second high school.

Total cost: $37.7 million


District Wide campus improvements

Campuses throughout the district will receive needed improvements and repairs. Funds will also be spent to prepare New Braunfels Middle School to evolve into the district's 9th Grade Center. District-wide improvements also include: Science lab upgrades and HVAC system upgrades.

Total cost: $5.2 million


New transportation building on Klein Road district site

Funds will be spent on a new transportation building on the current transportation satellite site, located off Klein Road. This site will house the entire district's transportation operation to help free up space for parking at New Braunfels High School along with restroom and dressing facilities for spring sports.
