Nearly 30 members of the New Braunfels High School Mighty Unicorn Band will be headed north this weekend to perform at the Music for All National Festival in Indianapolis.

“It will be a great opportunity for our students to perform in front of their peers and college-level judges as well as being able to watch other ensembles perform,” said NBHS Percussion Director Craig Turner.

Making the 1,100 mile trek to perform will be an opportunity of a lifetime for many of the percussionists making the trip, including senior percussionist Josiah Granado.

“This is just an awesome opportunity for all of us,” Granado said. “The best part will be getting to go on a trip with all of my bandmates.”

The percussion ensemble went through an intense audition process, which ultimately led to an invite to the Music for All National Band Festival. This is the first time that NBHS band members have been invited to perform at this event.

NBHS will be performing live at noon on Saturday, April 1, at the Warren Performing Arts Center in Indianapolis. If you’d like to watch the performance online, CLICK HERE.  For more information about the Music for All National Festival, visit: https://festival.musicforall.org/.
