New Braunfels High School students Roseline Neeley, Abigail Thompson and Jovanny Vega are headed to the state Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE).
The students competed at regionals recently and from regionals the top 10% of judged students qualify for the state competition. Vega will have two pieces of art on display at state, while Neeley and Thompson each will have one of their works shown.
NBHS also had over a dozen other regional winners who fell just outside of the 10% who qualified for state. Those students included: Rylee Kanz; Annel Jimenez; Jesus Hernandez; Morgan Hall; Brooke Bagley; Willem Van Der Maal III; Susan Samos-Cornelius; Cecily Salas; Alekxis Rodriguez; Dakota Mabry; Basil Hinnen; Teagan Herrera; Kaitlin Hale; Tina Garcia; Kayla Gall; Eryn Galan and Helena Dixon.
The state VASE competition is set to be held at San Marcos High School from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 29.
