PSAT
PSAT/NMSQT School Day
We will be administering the following College Board assessments at New Braunfels High School during the 2023-2024 school year:
- PSAT - October 11, 2023 (10th-11th grade)
- SAT-Spring 2023
- AP Exams - May (AP students who sign up for exams)
Students with documented disabilities may be eligible for accommodations on College Board exams. Students cannot take the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, or AP Exams with accommodations unless their request for accommodations has been approved by Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD).
Students who receive an accommodation in school or have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 Plan do not automatically qualify for the accommodation on College Board exams — they must still be approved by the College Board’s Services for Students with Disabilities.
If you would like to request to receive accommodations on any of these College Board assessments, please fill out and return the Consent Form for Accommodations Request and return to Mrs. Morris.

National Merit Scholarship
High School students who meet published program entry and participation requirements enter the National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) at the specified time in the high school program, usually as juniors. Each year's PSAT/NMSQT is the qualifying test designated for entry to a particular year's competition. For example, the 2020 PSAT/ NMSQT is the qualifying test for entry to the competition for scholarships to be awarded in 2022.
Note: The PSAT 10 and PSAT 8/9 will not be considered for entry to the National Merit Scholarship Program. The PSAT/NMSQT is official route of entry to the National Merit Scholarship Program.
