Seeking nominations for LCHS’s mascot and school colors

Long Creek High School Mascot & School Colors Nominations now being accepted

What should the new high school mascot & colors be? That is the question New Braunfels ISD is asking the public for input through an open nomination process. All nominations must be submitted on the official nomination form. All nominations are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2022.

Long Creek High School (LCHS) is scheduled to open its doors in August of 2024 for the transition to the second comprehensive high school in New Braunfels ISD. Its transition will be a gradual build-up to a 4-year high school with sophomores added to the campus in 2024, juniors in 2025, and seniors in 2026.

The line to divide LCHS and NBHS will be IH-35, and that boundary line will start separating classes in August of 2024. For students living east of IH-35 in August of 2024, they will be zoned for LCHS. Students living west of IH-35 at that time will be zoned for NBHS. This transition will impact our current 8th-grade class and beyond.

“With the school's attendance boundaries set, we are ready to start the process to select the school's mascot and school colors,” said Dr. Cade Smith, superintendent of schools.
