Annual Federal Impact Aid Survey

Impact Aid Program

Federal financial assistance is available to our district from the Impact Aid Program that directly impacts your child’s education by providing replacement funding for operating expenses such as materials, equipment, teachers, special education programming, and building improvements, as part of the general funding of the district.

Federal Impact Aid Survey form was sent home on October 10, 2023. Review the form carefully to see if your work or living situation applies to the survey. If so complete, sign, and return to your child’s school by November 9, 2023 or complete electronically online in ParentSquare. Be assured all information is only used to support our request for federal funds under the Impact Aid Program. PLEASE NOTED: A survey must be completed for every child that attends a school in NBISD and will remain confidential.

Why is it important?

Under the Title VII of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, the New Braunfels Independent School District (NBISD) is eligible to apply for Federal Impact Aid funds. NBISD is entitled to these funds based on the district’s enrollment of students whose parents are federally connected such as Active Duty in the Uniformed Military Services, or Civilians employed on Federal Property. NBISD anticipates receiving unrestricted funds that will become part of the district’s general operating budget and is critical in maintaining our high standards for educational excellence

Why should you respond?

In order for NBISD to apply for funds we have to be able to show record of our claim. The minimum information the Federal Government requires the district to obtain is included in the survey provided by NBISD. Parents/Guardians are asked to review and complete the form carefully. This form has been revised in an attempt to make the form easier to understand and to include additional information required by the United States Department of Education. It is essential that all people that are federally connected complete this survey. However, a survey must be completed for every child that attends a school in NBISD and will remain confidential.

For more information on the program, visit the U.S. Department of Education’s website here.

If you have any questions regarding this survey, please call the Federal Programs Department at 830-643-5744. Please return this form to your school by Thursday, November 9, 2023. Thank you for your cooperation.
