Returning Students

Parents of returning students will be required to enroll their child for the 2018-2019 school year through their txConnect Parent Portal account.  Students must have an updated Proof of Residency to register for the school year. If you are moving to another campus or have moved to a new address over the summer, you will only need to provide your new Proof of Residence. Your Proof of Residency can be uploaded online through the txConnect Parent Portal.

New Students (Kinder-12th grade)

The online registration process can be completed in three easy steps – 1) Go to the txConnect Parent Portal either log in (for previous users) or set up a new account using a valid email address. Complete the online enrollment for the new student; 2) bring the required documents to your home campus and print and complete the additional forms provided online at http://www.nbisd.org/page/dis.new_student_reg before coming to the campus; 3) activate the txConnect account to manage student records, monitor student’s grades and attendance and receive notifications. For step-by-step instruction, go to

Students registering for kindergarten must be 5 years old by September 1, 2018.

New students to New Braunfels High School, NBHS Ninth Grade Center, Oak Run Middle School and New Braunfels Middle School will also need to call and make an appointment for a “New Student Counselor Meeting” in order to create a schedule.

Pre-Kindergarten Registration

The Lone Star Early Childhood Center is home to the district’s pre-kindergarten program. The program has both 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds.  All 3-year-old students must apply and qualify through Head Start before registering with NBISD. Students must be age 3 by Sept. 1, 2018 to apply. Please call the Head Start office at 830-331-8908 to schedule an appointment and begin the registration process.

All parents of students that will be age 4 by Sept. 1, 2018, can register as a new student through the online txConnect Parent Portal. NBISD has tuition spots available in the 4-year-old program for those students that do not qualify through Head Start. Once a student is enrolled in the full-day program, school attendance is mandatory. This is not a drop-in or day care program. For more information about the program, call Lone Star at 830-627-6820.

Support and Computer Access

Parents may go to any campus to receive support and access for online registration during normal offices hours. Please call ahead to make sure the campus is open before going to a campus. All campuses except NBHS are currently closed for the summer, but will open on Monday, Aug. 6.
