Parents of returning students will be required to complete online verification for the 2022-23 school year through ASCENDER Parent Portal. You can do this from any computer, anywhere, with Internet access.




Parents of new students will be required to enroll their child for the 2022-2023 school year through ASCENDER Parent Portal. You can do this from any computer, anywhere, with Internet access. 




Parents of Pre-Kinder for 4-year-olds (age 4 by Sept. 1, 2022) can find registration information on the NBISD Pre-K website.



Welcome to NBISD!

Registration will be online for new students to NBISD. You will also need to provide the items listed below directly to the campus to complete the registration process. For questions or concerns regarding the registration process as well as times the campus will be open, please see the campus directory list below.


If you are new to the district, you will need to provide the items listed below. 

In order to comply with state and local mandates, as well as local school board policy, parents or guardians must produce the following documents:
Government-issued Copy of Birth Certificate
All students must be age 5 as of September 1, 2022

Social Security Card
Must be the child’s card

Immunization Record
Record of all immunizations and/or boosters

Driver’s License or Texas ID
Must be provided by the parent/legal guardian registering the child

Residency Verification
One of the following documents to prove you live within the New Braunfels ISD:
  • NBU bill
  • CenterPoint Energy bill
  • GVEC or CPS bill
  • Lease Agreement (listing all occupants)
  • Mortgage Agreement
  • Notarized letter from your landlord (listing all  occupants)

If your family is residing with another NBISD resident, a Residency Form will need to be completed at the campus. Both the parent/guardian, and the NBISD resident will need to make an appointment with the campus secretary. The NBISD resident will need to provide proof of residency and the campus principal must approve all forms.

    ***If you child will be attending the Ninth Grade Center and you requested bus transportation, please call the Transportation Department for the pick-up time/location and drop-off times/locations. They can be reached at 830-627-6150.

  • New Braunfels Independent School District thanks you for taking part in our online athletic participation paperwork. The goal of accepting these forms electronically is to conserve resources and allow us to be more efficient in collecting these annually required documents. Any desktop computer, iPad, or smartphone can be used to complete and submit forms.

    All forms, update medical history, and ANNUAL physical, are required to be on file with the athletic training department prior to participation in any practice, scrimmage, or contest before, during, or after school. Medical History and ANNUAL Physical Exam WILL BE THE ONLY "PAPER" FORMS ACCEPTED.  Scanned PDF of these forms from home or your phone are also acceptable. Both Apple and Android phones have this capability. 

    COVID-19 Update: UIL Requires all student-athletes testing positive for COVID-19 to have written clearance from a physician stating it is safe for your child to return to athletics. Generic return-to-school notes cannot be accepted. You can get a copy of the NBISD form by contacting the athletic trainers.

    Texas Minimum State Vaccine Requirements for Students Grade K-12

    A student shall show acceptable evidence of vaccination prior to entry, attendance, or transfer to a child-care facility or public or private elementary or secondary school in Texas.

    Please provide your shot record to the School nurse if your child has received these vaccines.  Your student will not be able to receive a schedule or attend school until the shots are received and written record is provided.

  • The District has a vital interest in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all students.  The use of illegal drugs poses serious health and safety risks to the user and those associated with the user.  The District intends drug testing to serve as a deterrent to the use of illegal drugs and to provide students with a viable reason to resist peer pressure to use illegal drugs. All students in grades 7 through 12 who participate in school-sponsored competitive extracurricular activities shall be required to undergo random drug testing. All students in grades 9 through 12 who receive a permit allowing them to park their vehicles on school property during the school day shall be required to undergo random drug testing.

  • For the benefit of parents who do not have insurance or have limited health insurance, the school district is making available a Voluntary Student/Athletic Accident Insurance Plan.

    The after-school program is operated by the YMCA of San Antonio and available for all elementary students at select school sites.
