A: NBISD aims to hire the most qualified, fully credentialed candidates for teaching positions. Fully certified candidates will always be given preference in the screening and selection process for employment. NBISD, however, does hire teachers enrolled in Alternative Certification Programs when needed, provided that the programs are approved by TEA. All principals conduct their own interviewing and recommendations to hire. It is up to each individual principal if they want to consider someone in an Alternative Certification Program.
