Dear Parents/Guardians & Employees:
With minimal precipitation over the evening hours, NBISD Administrators have made the decision to have a normal start to our school day today. Designated staff were out earlier this morning to verify that roads are drivable in making this determination.
If you do not feel like you can make it safely to your destination this morning, please keep your child home or delay your start; no tardies will be taken. For those attending school today, we will have the doors open and buses running at our normal start time and running on a normal schedule.
Our team will continue to assess the weather as we move throughout the day and into tomorrow. We will keep you updated if inclement weather were to occur and impact our school day.
With our roads still wet from today’s freezing rain and continued below freezing temperatures expected throughout the night, New Braunfels ISD has made the decision to extend our closure, and cancel school tomorrow, Friday, February 4th. All NBISD campuses and offices will return to normal operations on Monday, February 7th.
Extra-curricular activities for tomorrow are also canceled and will be rescheduled.
All schools and offices will be open at normal time on Friday, Jan. 21. Buses will run on the normal schedule as well. Any changes will be shared via SchoolMessenger by 5:15 AM tomorrow. This evening you may see some very light rainfall and wintry mix so please remain cautious if you are on the roads this evening. A number of evening events including choir performances, booster meetings, and athletic events have been postponed in anticipation of the freezing temperatures this evening. In addition to this page, please visit your campus social media pages for recent notifications.

Designated staff were out earlier to verify that roads are drivable to help make this determination.
As you know these decisions are not always easy to make and we do so with input from our local emergency management officials, meteorologists, and law enforcement. If you do not feel like you can make it safely to your destination this morning, please stay home. For those that will be in attendance at school today, we will have the doors open at our normal start time and running on a normal schedule.
Our team will continue to assess the weather as we move throughout the day and into tomorrow. We will keep you updated if inclement weather were to occur as well as our plans for tomorrow.
